M.anifest Releases New Single ‘La Vida’ Ahead of Fifth Studio Album

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
— M.anifest

He is one of the most revered figures in the African music scene. Being described as one of the leading rappers on the continent by The Guardian, M.anifest is gearing up to release his fifth studio album Madina To The Universe. His brand new single ‘LaVida’ is a taste of what is to come ahead of what will be his seventh project overall.

The award-winning Ghanaian music icon has called on production from fellow Ghanaian musician Øbed, who recently worked with Amaarae and Wande Coal. The mixing was done by Beninois producer Rvdical The Kid who has worked with Kojey Radical and Tems. With the release of La Vida M.anifest collaborated with South African director Adriaan Louw.

“Adriaan is fantastic. He’s not loud as a person but his work speaks volumes. I’ve admired his work for some years now so it’s dope we got to finally work. He is quite meticulous and is definitely top-notch in his creative approach” added when he described working on his music video.

Explaining the message behind the video M.anifest said: ”I think we all desperately want “the world we once knew” to be still within reach. There is nothing normal about this new state of affairs. La Vida on the other hand as a run-wild and carefree vibe is perhaps offering an escape into the freedom that once was.”

After working with Chicago rap artist and musician Vic Mensa, M.anifest encourages collaboration across the African continent. “I’ve always been drawn to the idea of working with creatives across the continent. It’s an approach I believe in because being an African creative is a bigger idea than being bound to a nationality. Wanuri from Kenya is a creative I’d like to work with”

Madina To The Universe is both creatively and mentally a return to the essence for M.anifest. ”It’s more of a reflection and a statement of ambition and I am certain it can inspire many. The kid from Madina became a man for the universe. To my current and future fans, definitely keep streaming all the singles and pre-save the album soon as we announce the date!”

When speaking about what fans could expect on ‘Madina To The Universe’ M.anifest says that “It’s a more confident, more competent, and more visionary me that shows up on this album,”.
